How much does it cost to become a member?

Nothing! It is absolutely free to become a basic member of CollectorCarNation. To experience ALL of the benefits that CollectorCarNation offers, join Club CollectorCarNation (CCCN). A Fan Club Membership is only $2.95/month. The Pro Club is $6.95/month or $49.95 for the full year.

Why can't I log into my account?
Answer:
If we do not recognize the email, username or password being entered, you will receive an error with links to help you recover them. If you receive an error message that says your account is disabled, or you need additional help, email us at [email protected] or call us at 413-663-3496.
**If there is no error message on the page, it is possible your web browser cookie settings are set too high. You may need to lower your cookie settings on your web browser. Your cookie settings are set differently for different browsers. If you are using INTERNET EXPLORER you need to go to: TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS / PRIVACY TAB. Lower the cookie setting by dragging the dial down. Then click apply, then OK. If you are using FireFox, go to OPTIONS/PRIVACY AND SECURITY/MANAGE EXCEPTIONS IN COOKIES AND SITE DATA. Type in collectorcarnation.com and Allow for Session. If you are using Chrome, then go to OPTIONS/PRIVACY AND SECURITY/COOKIES AND OTHER SITE DATA. Under Sites that Can Always Use Cookies and add collectorcarnation.com.

Why should I become a Club CollectorCarNation Member?
Answer:
Club CollectorCarNation Members enjoy many more features and options than Basic Members. We offer two levels - Fan Club and Pro Club for different needs.
- Fan Club is great for browsers. It allows users to increase thumbnail sizes, fade viewed classifieds and provides early access to listings.
- Pro Club level is great for sellers. It includes 5 ad positions, free photo galleries, free video and value points that can be used to purchase ad upgrades.

What are Value Points?
Answer:
CollectorCarNation Pro Club Members get value points on the initial sign up as well as and when membership is renewed. These points are like money to spend on your ads, and can be used for upgrades including feature, premier or repost functions. Annual Pro Club CollectorCarNation members will receive 6500 ($65) points each year, Monthly Pro Club CollectorCarNation members will receive 500 ($5) each month. Each point is worth $.01, so $10 worth of value points = 1,000 value points. Value points are only available to Pro Club CollectorCarNation Members and Businesses.
Do I have to register to use the site?
Answer:
Of course not! We love all visitors. You can browse the site, search ads and contact sellers without being a member, although even free Basic Membership has some great benefits to members, including a secret decoder ring (just kidding). If you do want to post ads (and you know you do! you must have something in that garage!) you can become a Basic member for free and post up to 2 ads with no charge.
How do I change my email address?
Answer:
Log in to the site and go to 'My Account'. Click on the 'Change' link located next to the email address that you have on file. Insert a new address. To verify the change we will send you a link to the new email address. Click on that link and your new email address will be updated.
How do I cancel my current account and start a new one?
Answer:
You can change your username, password, and the associated email address with your account so that it will appear as a new account, but we can't cancel accounts as they are kept for historical purposes.
How do I cancel my membership?
Answer:
Ohhhh noooo, don't go!! If you really have to, we will miss you! Cancelling is easy, just send an email to [email protected] or call 1-413-663-3496. We will send an email confirmation upon cancellation.
Why am I still being charged even though my ad is not active?
Answer:
Although your membership gives you added perks when placing an ad, they are not mutually exclusive. If your membership expires, your ad does not. If your ad expires, your membership does not. If you do not want to continue getting charged after your ad has been taken down, then contact us to cancel your membership by emailing us at [email protected] or call us at 866-326-9227.
Why is my account disabled?
Answer:
An account typically is disabled for either scammerish activity or if the person went against our terms of service. Accounts can be re-open if the person talks with a CollectorCarNation team member and understands what they did wrong.
Selling
Do I have to be a member to create ads?
What are the do's and dont's for posting copy and/or images.
Answer:
Protecting items that are originally owned by others is our number one concern when it comes to the posting of ads, if you don't own the rights to post the item, don't post it. There are guidelines that clearly state our policies on copywriter infringements which can be found
here.
I sold my item. How do I stop my ad from running?
Answer:
Once you sell your item (Congrats!!!) you will want to go to Manage Ads and in Active Ads find your ad and mark it as sold. You will be given the option to make an Honor Payment at that time. You also have the option of Deleting your ad in Manage Ads. Your ad will remain on the site for the length of time selected during the posting process if it is not deleted or sold and be removed automatically when that time has expired.
I upgraded my ad to a Premier Ad and after doing so my ad still doesn't appear?
Answer:
If your Premiere ad does not have a picture, it will not show as a Premier ad so you will want to add a picture to your ad. Pictures increase your chances of selling your ad immensely. Our Pro Club members receive 50 pictures per ad for FREE!
To add a picture to your ad, you would go to Manage Ads in your account, then click EDIT MEDIA and then BROWSE for a picture on your phone or computer. Once you find a file and click OPEN, the picture will start uploading. When you see the picture on the ad scroll down and click SAVE CHANGES. The ad will display your image correctly and then be able to show in the PREMIER section of the site.

How do I repost an expired ad?
Answer:
You can repost an expired ad by going to your account and clicking on "Expired Ads". (Deleted or Expired ads remain in the database for 90 days.) You can automatically repost your ad in blocks of 4 weeks by clicking on "Repost". If you don't want to use our automatic service you can click on "Post an Ad" to recreate a new one.
How do I modify the text in an ad?
Answer:
You may add additional text to an ad by logging in and clicking "MyAds". Then click EDIT TEXT. Please note that you cannot change the original text of the ad. This is a security function of the site. You would need to delete the ad and post a new one in its place in order to change the original description.
How do I extend an expired ad? Non-expired ad?
Answer:
There are two ways to refresh an ad and get it posted back to the front:
1. Use the Re-posting option, which posts the ad back to the front. This option has a $20.00 service fee, but you can your value points to cover this. You may get to that by logging into your account and clicking on "My Ads", then EXPIRED ADS and REPOST. If you use this option, your ad will be posted back to the front and be extended for an additional 4 weeks.
If your ad is not expired yet, you can login and click "My Ads" then UPGRADE and select REPOST.
If your ad has expired yet, you can login and click "My Ads," select EXPIRED ADS and select the REPOST button
If you would like the ad to repost every day, you can add that option on the UPGRADE page. The cost for that upgrade is $300 per month.
2. Once the ad has been removed, you can post a new one in its place by clicking POST AD and type out the ad again. (FREE)
How do I change my phone number on my ad?
Answer:
You can change the phone number on an existing ad by logging in and clicking "My Ads". Then click EDIT TEXT and change the phone number on the ad.
If you have a change on your account, please let us know the old phone number and the new phone number so that we can modify the account and so it will correctly display the next time you post an ad.
I am having problems posting my photo?
Answer:
We support .jpeg, .jpg, .png and .gif file formats with a Max file size: 3MB. If none of that works, try posting the ad first without the photo. Go back to "My Ads" and click on 'Edit' under the ad you want to post the photo in. Go through the process of uploading your photo. There is a time out function on the posting process and not on the editing process, so the above process should work. If you still have a stubborn photo you can email it to us as an attachment, along with the ad number, and we will post that for you. Email it to [email protected]
Where can I see NEW ADS posted today?
Answer:
Ads that are posted today are placed in a 24-hour exclusive hold for our club users (Fan and Club) to view first. After the time period is up they are viewable to the rest of the public the next day. You can view these ads in the "Early Access Ads" section of the site or by clicking on "Ads By Day". The default date is always today's date. You can view other dates by changing the date in that field. If you want to see an ad that has been placed today in an exclusive hold you can wait until the next day or upgrade to our Fan Club membership

Answer:
Congratulations on posting your ad. When an ad is posted we display it as an Early Access ad for the first 24 hours. Early Access ads are only visible to our trusted club members. This makes sure your ad is being seen by these users first before the rest of the users.
What are your transaction fees after I sell an item?
Answer:
ZERO. Unlike eBay we don’t take a piece of the pie. When you sell something you keep 100% of the profit. We do offer people the ability to make honor payments If you do feel as though the website helped you sell your item but there is no obligation to do so
Why is my account disabled?
Answer:

It won't let me enter a price
Answer:
The price can only be entered as numbers. Any symbols or letters will not be accepted in the system. If the system keeps throwing an exception for the user, the price section can be left empty and filled in later on after the ad is finished posting.
How much does the Concierge Service cost?
Answer:
The cost to post an ad for you is $59.95 per ad placed.
What is Concierge Service?
Answer:
Concierge service is a paid service that we offer to our users that are having trouble or would like us to post an ad for them. We understand that sometimes technology isn't your friend or you simply do not have the time to sit down, create an account and post an ad. For that reason we now offer a concierge service were we do the work for you. If you don't have an account, we will create one for you. We will then sit with you and post your ad for you. It keeps telling me the RECAPTCHA wasn't filled out but I don't see the option to fill out a RECAPTCHA
Answer:
On the first page of the posting process a user sometimes accidentally clicks the page before filling out the RECAPTCHA. Unfortunately, there is not a way to get it to regenerate but you can get around this issue if you create an account first. Once you create your account the ad that you started should be placed into your account as an unfinished ad. If for some reason it was not placed in your account, please contact us so we can see if we can find your unfinished ad for you.
How do I include a video in my listing?
Answer:
There are two ways to post a video to your ad listing. If you have a YouTube video, you can copy the video link, or if you have a video on your phone or computer, you can upload it directly. This can be done when you create the listing or can be added in after. You can upload a video up to 100MB in the following formats: MP4, MOV, OGG, WEB, and OG. It's a $10 upgrade for Basic or Fan Club members and FREE for our Pro Club members.
To upload a video on mobile:
- Take our your cell phone and record your video
- CLICK HERE to navigate to the "my ads" page: https://www.racingjunk.com/my_ads
- Select MANAGE then EDIT
- Scroll down and save your ad information (this will move you to photo & video)
- Select BROWSE under the video upgrade section.
- Select which video you would like to upload (MP$, MOV, OGG, WEB, OG files accepted, Max size: 100MB)
- Once the video has been added, scroll down and click "Save and Continue" to finish the edit process
- Thats it!
To upload a video on your computer:

- Select the blue EDIT link and select EDIT MEDIA
- Select BROWSE under the video upgrade section.

Browsing
How can I see only private or dealer ads
Answer:
Whenever you are viewing results either in a category or after a search, there are 3 tabs at the top of the results that allow you to filter the ads by, "all," "private sellers" and "dealers." If you click on any of those tabs, it will automatically filter your results. For example if you were to click on the "private seller" tab you will only see ads that have been posted by private sellers.
How do I contact a seller?
Answer:
Every sellers ad has a contact us form at the bottom of the ad that lets you send a message directly to a seller. The message will be emailed to them and they can decide whether or not they want to contact you back. Users also have the option to provide a phone number on their ad. You may contact them directly with the phone number listed on the ad. Please note that sellers do not have to include a phone number (although most of them choose to include it). The phone number can be found at the top of the ad, above the photo on the right hand side and also at the bottom of the ad in the "About The Seller" section.
Why can I only see a few ads posted today
Answer:
There can be two reasons for this.
1) You are either not logged in or are a basic user and are seeing Early Access ads. We only show 3 Early Access ads to non logged in users and basic users. Please see more information here about exclusive ads: https://www.collectorcarnation.com/earlyaccess
2) The category or results that you are viewing only have a few ads that were posted today. If you are looking at a refined search or some of our smaller categories, this certainly can lead to only a few ads being posted today.
What are Early Access Ads?

Early access ads are only open to our select membership levels (Fan or Pro). These members receive exclusive 24-hour access to view these newly posted ads before they are available to the rest of our site users. How much do ads cost?

It is completely FREE to post an ad listing on CollectorCarNation. Unlike other classifieds websites like eBay where you pay to post an ad, CollectorCarNation allows users to place ads for FREE. You do have to be a member to place an ad, but we offer a FREE basic membership. Many users have a FREE basic account, place free ads and sell them without giving us a dime. There are ad upgrades and additional membership levels available to help sell your item more quickly.
How long does each ad run?

You can choose the length of time you want an ad to run ranging from 1 to 16 weeks
How much does it cost to upgrade my ad?
Answer:
This all depends on what upgrade you are looking to do with your ad. We have many different upgrade options depending on what your goal is. We have ad placement upgrades, visibility upgrades, run time upgrades and media upgrades. To see a list of all of the upgrades that you can do to your ad, visit the manage ads section of the site (https://www.collectorcarnation.com/my_ads) and click upgrade next to the ad that you would like to upgrade.

What is an Honor Member?
Answer:
An Honor Member is someone who has successfully used the site to sell their item(s) and has made an Honor Payment to us as outlined in our site agreement. To reward members that send us Honor Payments we put the Honor Member icon on their ad. This prestigious icon is visible to all individuals that browse or search or ads. It lets potential buyers know that they are dealing with a reputable seller that supports CollectorCarNation.com. Your Honor Member Level will change accordingly.
Where do I make an Honor Payment?
Answer:
In the "My Ads" section of your account you will see a link at the top of every ad you post "Honor Payment". Click on that link and it will direct you to the location to make a payment. There is also a link in the drop down that pops up when you hover over your name in the top right hand corner of site that will take you to the same location. Answer:
No, any member whether Basic, Club CollectorCarNation or Business can use the rating system.
Messaging
What is the difference between the 3 sections in my messages?
Answer:
1) CollectorCarNation messages: These are messages sent from CollectorCarNation. They can not be deleted. They all have a default expiration date and will delete when the message expires.
2) User Messages: These are messages sent from users of the website.They work similar to typical email. When a user sends a message to your ad through our "message seller" contact form the ad will be sent to your email but also a copy will be placed in your messages. You are able to reply back to users, delete messages and control your message notifications.
3) Push Notifications: These are different from message notifications. This is where we would list any notifications that you would have signed up for. You can update your notifications from. your my account page.
How do I find a message which was sent to me?
Answer:
A message that is sent to you through our "message seller" form will be sent to your email and also copied in your "messages" inbox. You can view your messages by clicking on "message" on the very top of the website next to My Ads.
Why can't I send a message back to a potential buyer?
Answer:
If a person is not logged in or is not a message of our site you will not be able to use our messaging system to send a message back to them.
Why can't I delete the CollectorCarNation messages?
Answer:
You can not delete these message because they have an expiration date and will be removed automatically once they expire.
What is message notification?
Answer:
When a person sends you a message we, by default, automatically send it to your email address that we have on file. If you would like to have it sent to a different email address, you can change it in your message notification center. Fraud Protection
What can CollectorCarNation do if I got scammed?
Answer:
We can supply you with any ad and account info if you are taking legal action against this person. If you can fax over documentation that proves you are taking legal action against this person, i.e. court papers or a letter from an attorney we can disable the account, and provide a legal entity with member/ad/message information that will help you with your pursuit of this person.
What can I do to prevent getting scammed?
Answer:
It is very important that our members notify us of any potential scams or scammers right away. There are a couple of different ways that you can report a scam to us
- Call: 866-326-9227 or email us at support@https://www.collectorcarnation.com
- If you received an email from us with a message from a scammer there is a link in the email that says "Click here if this email is inappropriate." If you click on that link it will send the message directly to us to review.
In addition to informing us of potential scams, we strongly encourage our members to use an ESCROW account to complete any transactions that you are not making in person. We encourage members to use an escrow service to make sure that your transaction is safely done. An escrow service protects both parties involved in the transaction. Buyers receive and inspect the merchandise before the Seller is paid. Sellers receive their money if the Buyer accepts the merchandise. For more information go to www.escrow.com.

What are some common scams?
Answer:
There are a lot of different ways scammers can scam both buyers and sellers. One of the most common scams involves a potential buyer sending more money then you are asking for. They then request for you to accept the money, but send the additional funds back to them. Most likely what is happening is that the check is bad and when you send money back to the scammer you are actually sending your own money instead of the extra money.
