I WOULD NEVER ASK ANYONE TO REMOVE ANY PARTS FROM A CAR WITHOUT A DEPOSIT. GLAD I DON'T LIVE IN UTAH WITH THOSE LAWS.

It is also a felony I will repeat a felony to sell a vehicle and claim it is a true Super Sport when it is not. It is called misconception of a motor vehicle.
So you young men say what you will but the law is the law

Jay lives in Indiana, so the deposit deal holds no value.
Yes, its illegal to skip titles but its not uncommon. People do it all the time and it is what it is.
You need to read his ad, it says he will give you the VIN to verify if it was a SS?
Last but not least, was it you who was wanting to buy the car or your buddy? I am confused...

I am a retired attorney and a bishop at my church and the rest of the year I collect cars and race on the salt. I have seen 200mph 320mph and 420mph so I think my hobby list is just fine.
This is not a Forum its a game to you people.

seller has for sale a "original 71 ss" as he says in his ad, but he says he will send you the vin to verify, i would think seller should verify it 1st before he puts it up for sale, seems easy enough. i would never remove anything without a deposit, but i also would not advertise anything until i really had it in my driveway.

I never asked him to remove any parts. He offered me a rolling chassis for $18,000 then asked for a deposit. He said he would remove the motor and transmission and misc parts. I said ok I will send a driver to your door with cash.(( So again he offered me a rolling Chassis that he did not have in his possession,So I ask why would you offer a rolling chassis if you dont have a rolling chassis?
This is for everyone to know it is a law in every state you can not ask for a deposit on an item you do not own that legally belongs to a third party.
Now if I had a car that I owned then yes sir I would require a deposit before I would remove the engine. Agreed
And to the gentleman asking about if I would take a deposit for a case the answer is also yes but I was a criminal attorney!
God bless

Couple questions:
What was your relationship to the owner of the Chevelle? The one JaysS10 made the trade with?
What was the date that you found our about the Chevelle and the trade? When did you know?
Just curious.
As a retired attorney, I am sure you are used to asking questions like this so answering them shouldnt be a problem, and as a retired Bishop I'd guess that honesty would be a priority.
Thanks,
Scorp
