what does it help to have a 4/7 swap on the cam?

it helps the motor breath better and free's up some ponies....... about 30 of them on average :wink:

i think the 4/7 swap has something to do with helping harmonic vibration

afr 210 race ported,11.1 compression.

it allows the exhaust to flow better and moves the hot spot as well.... which frees up horse power

No way your getting 30 hp more by changeing the firing order,5-10 if your lucky.

the one show on speed tv(cant remember which it was) their was on a $3500 crate edelbrock motor.... they dyno'd it right out of the crate and then swapped just the cam for the 4/7 and it made 30 more horse and more torqe...... with the same carb and intake

You will get different results on different motors. Stating a 30hp increase is a large blanket statement. Some may others will not.
