Those 2 vids were only 2 miles from the start of the 94 mile Silver State Challenge. 92 miles to go at HIGH SPEED ---THAT is what I call FUN !
Open road racing is NOT a liddle spurt up to 140 and then back down to the speed limit. It is 1000% TOTAL energy draining FOCUS for miles and miles. As you are doing that, you and/or your navigator are watching when to turn, when to slow, and when to speed up to stay on 'time'. ORR is a high speed rally where you have 'X' amount of time to finish (for your speed class) and an 'average' speed you must NOT exceed or you are DQed . A lot of folks that drive solo w/o a nav, get withing 5 -10 SECONDS of their time.

Here's an in car of Mike and Marsha Borders in their recycled Winston Cup car. When Marsha goes " OOOHHHhhhhOO", Mike had apexed that turn too early and it put them too far outside on the exit. The numbers she is voicing are the speed they've determined beforehand, to take the corners at.
