Usually, unless you are talking really big motors then it can be a wash, or slower. Sometimes that has to do with not enough fuel in the bowls, head design, not enough room for fuel and air in the intake port, etc.... There are a lot of variables. You will need to post up your entire combo for anyone to give an informed guess at what is going on.
