I think the weight will hurt you more than help you , you need to transfer the weight that you already have instead of adding more unsprung weight.. this is my opion , now . (probally not everybodys,) my car weighs 1440 lbs if I add 200lbs to it , it will slow down, without a dought!
that 1 ton rear end is one heavy ass piece..you could probally sell it for enough to buy gears and axles for the one already in your truck , which is probally a 12 bolt..just food for thought , you might ask a few of the others on here what they think
