I've got a 92 chevy pu 4X4 that is cheap, dependable, and has great durablity....and the 350 in it is only about 200hp with 200,000 miles....not to blow your candles out...I say the best bang for your buck would be to check out some crate engines....plug and play with a warranty    check out GM Performance, Scoggin-Dickey Chevrolet, Stroker Engine.com, Speed O Motive, PAW Warehouse....I would also be leaning to a stroker engine....best bang for the buck.....Big Blocks work well in those trucks too!!!!
