Actually my altered has it mounted to the chassis above the rearend. You want to mount it as close to the centerline of the car. In other words if you were to hang the car by the back, where would it hang straight.
I'm not sure if I would want all that force pulling on the rearend. Seems you would have a real problem if you pulled the chute and the hiem joints broke.
I did a seach and came up with this. I'm not endorsing them. I've never done business with them. Just some ideas.
