I have a 2003 Duramax and have had no issues with it except a bad battery when I bought it new. My dad has two 97 Ford F350 with manual transmissions and he has a new 2008 with the new 6.4. The two 97's both have over 200,000 miles on them and get 3 mpg better than the 2008. The 2008 has plenty of power, but only gets 9-10 mpg! Open the hood on one of those and the might be down there somewhere.....but you can't see it.
