I’ve used the iOS Transfer feature from https://commander-one.com/ios-transfer/ a few times to mount my iPhone as a drive via USB. Overall, it worked smoothly for transferring photos and documents—my Mac immediately recognized the device, and drag-and-drop worked without hiccups. The file transfer speed was decent, and I appreciated being able to access folders directly. One minor issue: after waking from sleep the connection occasionally dropped and needed reconnection. Otherwise, solid tool.
