I am assuming this will need to be a short being its going into a dragster.

My best suggestion for you is this, get the best you can for the $ you have to spend. Do NOT buy anything with a 1.82 gear set.

The 1.76 gear set will be fine, CI #890-715176

Bracket Racing Powerglide
Bracket Brake
1.76 Ratio
Shorty Length

of course this is if you are dead set on a TCI, there are other good brands out there for what would be close to the same money.
Coan, Hughes, TSI just to name a few. I would call all of these companies find the best deal for the money and go with that one.

thanks David,,but it says not to use with over 450HP,so you say it will still work with about 600HP,,thanks Steve

Steve,

The 1.76 gear set can be used with well over 600hp, one thng I notice about reading this they mention the 1.82 gearset now that one I wouldnt run over 450hp for sure, some get lucky with them being a dragster is so light. I've ran the 1.76 coan powerglides with 900hp bbc and no issues. I think if you were to call TCI they would tell you it must be a typo on jegs.

Our Bracket Racing Powerglides are designed specifically to give you dependable service and great performance at an economical price for the mild engine bracket racer. This bracket racing series is not recommended for applications utilizing engines with over 450 horsepower, but is an excellent choice for engines making less than that.

All 1.82 Ratio Bracket Racing Powerglides include a special reinforced stock planetary. A steel girdle is welded over the housing, which increases torque load capacity. All Shorty Bracket Racing Powerglides include a re-splined and heat-treated output shaft and shorty cover.

I run a 540 CI BBC in a 3100 lb car with stock 1.76 planetaries.

I would just get a good trans man to build ya one...they are around.just got to look a little bit... Don't know what one costs from TCI but pretty sure you will still need to give them a core.Plus if you have problems what would you rather do? Talk to your tranny guy you met at the track, or ship it back to TCI or whomever and deal with that headache.
JMO but I know a very good tranny guy that drag races
