Is the oiling path different on older BBC,

Hey guys
Quick question, this is one where I miss Zip.
I got friend of mine that lost/hurt a BBC, (454) and I remember a forum question/discussion awhile back about the older BBC had a different oil path, if I remember it had to do with a groove cut in a cam or a bearing near the back. If anyone has any info about that LMK. The block is a 72. Thanks Jeff M.

65-66 models only, if I remember correctly..

Correct on 65-66 having rear cam bearing groove. Would not effect your block if it has correct bearings for that block. Just line up the holes in the bearings with holes in block.

i had this problem many years ago, you will have a problem with getting the oil to all the rockers, if you replaced the cam with one that has no groove you will need to have one cut in the new cam.
