My short time was 1.10 60'

I can take a couple plug wires off and run ya :P

slowman 05-11-2007 05:52 PM

i can't leave any harder with the d/r but the big end it's flying.

RonOwensRacing 05-11-2007 05:54 PM

well the old nova ran 5.68 in the 1/8 mile with a 572 in it power glide 5500 converter and a 430 gear 16.5x33x15 tires a little heavy at 3421 lbs all steel but hood and bumpers all factory glass and interior all lights work and thru exhaust i guess that wasn't to bad now the bird hasn't been out yet this year but the same combo but the weight is a bit lighter 2300 lbs so it should run pretty good i hope .
well itryed to post a pic of the nova but couldnt do it .

slowman 05-11-2007 05:59 PM

rl, with a 1000# diet that thing should fly!!!!

RonOwensRacing 05-11-2007 06:08 PM

i hope so those 1000 lbs sure cost a lot tom put the avatar up for me that's the bird there it ran 5.30 with a mild 540 in it so with this one i hoping to get down in the very low 5,s

LOL...I just had to throw the "Z-Hammer" out there on the pavement just to do some preemptive policing of the sandbox.

Thanks....I am looking at making some changes here this year so I am actually in the sponsorship hunt to get things in place for the 2008 season.
Since I didn't sell the car....it is getting ready to get a chassis update cause 7.50 chassis limit is not going to cut it for the plans in 2008. *wink*

OBTW...I wouldn't be bustin ya chops if I knew it was not fun'n games. :D

Hey everyone.....this proorange here is a part of "street-legal" racing history. More importantly he is still doing it. Not one to let the cat out the bag....but Jeff (Jeff Chandler) was one of the original Super Street guys back when I was dreaming of doing it. So for him to say what he did about my heavy barge means a lot to me!!!!

The orange thing goes back a few years....http://www.rpm1.net/gallery/albums/J...s_Chevelle.jpg

I used to watch him and the other "OG" (Original Guys and Gals) doing it...and think one day I hope to be doing it. LOL

chevguy65 05-12-2007 07:37 AM

Nice Chevelle and super street has to be fun!!!!!

I will be posting time slips next weekend....I hope I am not ambarrassed, but it will be first time out with the new combo.

proorange 05-12-2007 07:49 AM

chevguy65 05-12-2007 07:51 AM

Thanks Eric....

It has been about 2 years to get to this point and dammit I am excited to put it through the paces!

Ain't nothin to it but to do it!

proorange 05-12-2007 08:07 AM

Yeah, just run it and be proud. We are a small fraternity so weather it runs 18's or 8's at the track it's your car and your self satisfaction that counts and we all know what type of effort is needed to put a car on the track regardless of the ET that's on the ET slip. Good Luck

slowman 05-12-2007 09:42 AM

ash 05-12-2007 08:32 PM

OK, I'll take the snail award for my combo...

7.431 1/8
11.692 1/4 @115.1 mph
It's still my street car that I drive to car shows in different towns...... so the only way I'll compete with you is in mileage

slowman 05-12-2007 08:39 PM
