This 1997 Chevrolet C1500 Regency 4x4 is an impressive kind of truck. It was custom crafted by a company known for cool cruiser conversions, and so you have a very nice leather-lined A/C interior. But the lifted suspension, upgraded components, and fresher V8 power make this sleek Silverado quite a custom worker, too.
Regency has an established history of making comfortable long-haul vans, but some of us remember the few years when they were also building exceptionally cool trucks. They understood how to add elegance, like the way the blue pinstripes look distinct against the glossy white paint. And you just have to love how the lines hug every curve of the stepside bed. The chrome bumpers, billet grille, and polished step rails also add a nice amount of brightwork. So there is elegance in this well-kept pickup. In fact, we're told it was with its first owner up until earlier this year. Of course, you can tell he didn't just want a pretty pickup. This custom stands above most others - literally - thanks to its tall 4x4 prowess. The cowl hood and dual exhaust tips give this an aggressive attitude. Plus, there are plenty more upgrades that add both flair and function. The bright Eagle Alloy wheels have meaty off-road tires, there's a BDS front skid plate, and you even have a proper trailer hitch to bring more fun with you wherever you go. And we love all the upgrades to the bed. You have rugged liner paint, a full-size spare mount, and bright Baja-style bed bars with KC lights.
The blue leather interior has a tasteful style, especially when you realize the exterior pinstripes were giving you a preview of the inside. It's just the kind of cool/custom touches you get on a specialist vehicle. The front bucket seats have the wide and extra plush style that reminds you Regency made some of the best cross-country vans around. You'll find some wear from being used as a cruiser, but that's likely part of your plans, too. So it's just nice to have these quite clean, comfortable, and ready to hit the road. After all, this is loaded with including a power driver's seat, power windows, power locks, dual airbags, a tilt steering column, air conditioning, and plenty of premium wood-like trim. The stereo is an upgraded AM/FM/CD/XM unit that's your gateway to the amplified speaker system. You even have two consoles - one in-between the bucket seat and one overhead. This is also from the later years of this generation where the extended cab has a rear half-door to make it easier for passengers to access the rear and/or fold up the seats for added secure storage.
Under the hood is the correct-style 5.7-liter fuel-injected powerhouse. If it looks fresher to you, that's no accident. While the odometer shows the actual mileage, the V8 was replaced a little about 33k miles ago. And the way this fires up and runs certainly feels like a hardy new heart. And you want a powerful motor because this is a nicely enhanced 4x4 setup. There's a lifted stance, Trail Master SS front shocks, Pro Comp ES3000 dual rear shocks, large lateral traction arms, and a meaty set of BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires. But while this truck is rugged, it doesn't take much to see that it also hasn't lived a rough life. After all, power steering, power brakes, front discs, cruise control, and the four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive means this can just be an eye-catching urban cruiser, too.
