Description

Look through our inventory and you'll see a lot of late-30s Fords, but oddly, not many Chevrolets. The big two have been duking it out since the mid-20s, and if your tastes run to the pre-war era, you owe it to yourself to take a good look at this super-cool 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Streetrod. Nicely built with a great-running 350 V8 and some choice luxury and convenience items, this is the perfect hotrod for the person who loves to drive.

The high-impact Light Yelllow paint is way more vivid and high-impact than anything that rolled off the assembly line in 1938, but on the 2-door sedan's curvaceous body, fat fenders, and running boards, it looks amazing, bringing out the details and highlighting Chevy's iconic pre-war design. The body is 100% steel that hasn't been chopped or modified in any way. And why would you? The '38 Chevy 2-door is already one of the most handsome sedans of the era, with perfect proportions that straddle the line between sedan and coupe, a bright wind-swept grille, and a timeless profile one could stare at for days. Bodywork is really great, with a lot of extra care used on the driver-quality finish, although it's a few years old now with 12,818 miles on the clock since the build so it's understandably showing some signs of use. Nothing too big, mind you, but a few details that prove that this car was built to drive, and a little patina always helps build character. Note that much of the original-style trim wasn't shaved or deleted, but polished up and reinstalled, adding interest without making the car look too plain, and the custom touches like the deleted front bumper and running board strips are a nice touch. Stock headlights have cool little turn signals hanging from them – a nice compromise between form and function – and the third brake light and LED taillights incorporated in the rear bumper are modern pieces that fit the build together perfectly.

You couldn't ask for a better place to spend some time than the gorgeous tan leather interior. Borrowed from a late model, the adjustable front buckets have been reshaped and modified to erase their previous identity and make them look right at home in the vintage Chevy, and the rear bench seat, headliner, and door panels follow the elegant design for a perfect match. There's also a modern A/C unit that was installed underneath the dash, a tilt steering column with a leather-rimmed, banjo-style steering wheel mounted on top, and a powerful AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo built into a custom center console that also houses a set of cupholders and a pair of USB chargers. The original dash uses VDO gauges set inside a custom billet panel that really pops out against the yellow finish, and things like a tachometer and A/C vents and controls are nicely integrated under the dash. The massive trunk has been finished with matching carpets and custom side panels, so if you're going cross-country, this is definitely the car to take.

Cruising is easy thanks to the 350 V8 crate engine under the hood that moves this slick sedan with authority that the original inline-six could never manage. With an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Summit aluminum intake, along with an HEI ignition system and a big aluminum radiator, it's a reliable powerplant that's also a lot of fun on the open road. There's some chrome and other goodies that dress-up the engine bay, but it's obvious that this one was built to run, and with only 12,818 miles on the build it's quite clean. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission feeds a heavy-duty 10-bolt rear end, and the front suspension is a late-model independent setup with power steering and power front disc brakes. Flashy American Racing Torque Thrust wheels look slick as can be, and they're wrapped with staggered 185/60/14 front and 215/70/15 rear BFGoodrich performance radials that really fill the fat fenders.

Fully sorted and ready to enjoy, this awesome Chevy streetrod is a great show-and-go cruiser that'll make you smile every time you see it. Call today!
