Jaguar had the benefit of a designer and aerodynamicist designing some of the marque's most adored models. The same man who designed the C-Type, D-Type, and E-Type cars, had a very strong influence on the design of the XJS. Malcolm Sayer is the man who penned the sleek cars before the days of Computer Aided Design, or modern wind tunnels. As we would expect, the resulting car, in this case the XJS, is a beautiful automobile. Small changes throughout the XJ's lifetime occurred as the model aged in the form of headlights, tail lights, and badging, yet the heart and soul of the car remained. The XJS has always been an elegant luxury car, whether coupe or convertible. 1996 was the last year of the XJS before the new-at-the-time XK series hit showroom floors. Pulling up to an event or engagement in a Jaguar XJ series car was making a statement.
Offered here is a 1996 XJS 2+2 convertible finished in Jade Green over a tan leather interior, which makes for a beautiful automobile. As you would expect the vehicle has a number of notable styling cues which include among other things, leather heated power seats, leather door cards, wood trimmed dashboard, chrome trimmed bumpers, monoblock style alloy wheels, headlight washers, and tinted tail lights.
Jaguar's sleek, low slug body design aged well thanks to revisions to the head lights, tail lights, exterior trim, and interior styling as the XJ generation of Jaguar vehicles became older. The exterior of this car shows well. Jade Green exterior paint is even and glossy throughout, and panel fitment is dialed in. A simple black (power) soft top does the trick for keeping occupants out of the elements, but we figure that this car will see plenty of top down driving. The car glides along on monoblock style wheels which give a smooth, elegant look to the exterior.
Opulent interior appointments are a Jaguar signature, and this car fits the bill. Bolstered, heated leather seats include contrasting dark brown piping, which looks to match the carpeting color. Wood grain trim can be found on the dashboard and leather wrapped door panels, and chrome trim is used on the ashtrays, speaker grille surrounds, and door pulls. Heated seats , a wood trimmed steering wheel, and stereo with a trunk mounted CD changer are other interior features.
This car is your chance to own a gorgeous Jaguar in an attractive and subdued color. We're sure that you and others on the road will struggle to keep their eyes off it. The car is in beautiful condition and is ready for top down cruising. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thanks for looking
