The seller purchased the car in 2021 as a partially completed project that had already been refinished in white with blue stripes. Previous owner work has included installing a rebuilt 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a later rebuilt four-speed synchromesh manual transmission and a limited-slip 3.54:1 rear LS differential. Additional equipment includes a fiberglass bonnet, D-Type-style taillights, a welded roll cage, four-wheel disc brakes, a later XJ6 ported cylinder head, Isky camshafts, and three replacement Weber 45 DCOE carburetors and fuel cell. This XKE coupe is now offered as a non-running project in tribute to Briggs Cunningham’s Lightweight E-Type that was campaigned at LeMans in 1963.
Previous owner work performed at Lippincott’s Garage in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania has included assembling the front and rear suspension, replacing the brake lines, and assembling the four-wheel disc brake system and assembling the engine using Carrillo rods, Arias pistons, ARP bolts, an ATI harmonic damper, and custom baffles in the oil pan.
Seller has had additional work completed by Motorcars Inc. of Plainville,ct. This includes installing windows, hardware, brake components, alternator, tail pipes, correct wheels and tires, bonnet straps, steering wheel, headlamps, and compression test.
