Why Mopar do you ask?

A big thing for me is being different, that's what got me into Mopars. That's what got me wanting a 1963 Dodge. I would love a '41 Willys, but the price for them is REALLY crazy. I'm part of a car club that is primarily all street rods. Rods are great because you can really make them your own with whatever drive train you want,  whatever paint you want, but almost everyone in this club I'm in has a '32 Ford. Go to a Goodguys show or the Syracuse Nationals, how many 32 Fords do you see? They are all beautiful, but I like to be different. That's my thing and my opinion only. At an ALL MOPAR show in Carlisle PA this year, in a field of 2500 Mopars I was the ONLY '63 Dodge on the entire show fun field. For me, that's being different, that's being a Mopar nut!

Amen. I realize cudas aren't that rare but no one wanted them at the time I got into mopars. That's why I got into mopars too. All my chevy friends don't get that.

With me? It's Mopar or no car. Almost literally. I have had a FEW off brand cars, but my first was a '61 Polara (which I'd love to get my hands on again), and I've had more Mopars than I think I can remember. It's what my dad mostly drove and it's what I learned on and now know. You can build a Chevy dirt cheap, because there's so many of them, which is why you SEE so many of them. Drive a mad MOPAR and someone may not like it, but it will get noticed, you won't have to worry about losing it in a sea of shoebox Chevys, Camaros, or Mustangs. And like the sheriff said in Vanishing Point (the remake), it takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar!. grindertek

If everyone built, drove, dreamed of, or took pride in the same or similar cars it would be a boring hobby. Thanks to a varied taste in automotive culture everyone can express their choice in a variety of models, makes and generations of the recreational pastime we all enjoy so much. Keep things interesting and appreciate (respect) the accomplishments of fellow enthusiasts. Pride in ownership is a common bond.

Canadian..
Right on Canadian, that is why I too appreciate not just my mopars but the Chevys and Fords as well. Pretty soon we will all be asking be is it American [Canadian] or an import!

I got int MoPar because I liked being different and my dad said I couldn't have a 69 Super Bee. I ended up with a 63 Dodge Custom 880, which was different even back then. I still like being different, look at what I own. I still want my 69 Bee. Maybe someday I will.
